COMING SOON - Site Re-vamp

Like most I-Leaguers (most that I know anyway) the summer months came and went while I was traveling the world, tasting fine wines and, most importantly, dating fine women. But, like so many things in life, it had to come to a (temporary) end.

The new school year is upon us and now that I have some time I will be re-vamping IvyLeagueBlog.com...the original site designed to give the non I-Leaguers a taste of what Ivy life is like. And for all of us presently at (or formerly of) the IL8 it is just another chance for us to relish in our Ivy-dom.

So, bookmark the site and check back soon.

Weekend: Interrupted (Oscar Highlights)

So here I was late Friday thinking that I would be spening time with friends at my family's vacation home.... and then I get a phone call from my buddy "J".

J: It's your lucky day.

Me: Why is that?

J: Because we're going to the Oscars!

Me: Get the hell out. Seriously?

J: Damn right I am...we're on a flight Sunday morning.

So, after a long flight made palatable only by that fact that it was on a private jet, we arrive in LA.

I try to make it to LA a couple times a year but I had never been to a pinnacle entertainment event such as this.

Our seats were ok, Jon Stewart was funny, and the political undertones were at a minimum. All in all, a decent show.

The real fun came at the after-party.

I had one mission that I wanted to accomplish before we headed back home in the morning...meet the goddess known as Scarlett Johannsen.

After my friend called his father, who then made several phone calls himself, we were able to get in to the Vanity Fair party...and it was a party. I would be hard pressed to name a celebrity that I didn't see there....Clooney, Aniston, Vaughn..all my fav's. Still, I was focused on meeting Scarlett.

Call it chance, luck, intervention, or just damn good karma...but as we were leaving for another LA hot spot I caught glimpse of her. I had to introduce myself.

Battling mild nerves (this woman is absurdly attractive in person), I went up to Scarlett, introduced myself, let her know that I admired her work, and had a pleasant conversation that lasted a couple minutes.

During the conversation I realized this could be a once in a lifetime shot...so I went for broke and asked her to join us at our next location.... she politely declined.

Heartbroken? Nah. Disappointed? Definitely. But it sure is hard to be disappointed when you end up in a limo full of women who want to hear about your mingling with the stars.

Life is great...and I'm glad to be back from Hell-A.

Heading to The Hamps

Few things better exemplify "the good life" like a trip to the Hamptons...which is exactly where I will be this weekend (don't give the garbage on how it's a summer getaway...when you are trying to impress chicks who are from out of town...the Hamps will due).

I look forward to sharing the details of debauchery. After all, this isn't Las Vegas =)

You are fortunate enough to have stumbled across IvyLeagueBlog.com, a blog like no other.

It is for those who can sympathize with or are interested in people like myself who lead a better quality of life. It is not an apologist blog, and maybe not for those who cannot understand the need (and can afford) to buy a $4,000 Italian suit for OCI's (On campus interviews for those not in the know).

This site it what it is ladies and gentlemen. If you despise this way of life...well...poverty sucks, doesn't it?
